The Bulawan mine ceased operations in April 2002. Work at the mine at present primarily involves rehabilitation of mine areas and reforestation, maintenance of the tailings pond and erosion control. Plant and equipment have been stored properly and are being disposed of as opportunities arise.  Current care and maintenance cost have been substantially reduced as compared to the previous years.
